To me, this piece represents the selfless acts of motherhood. The lioness knows she may not live to see her cub’s futures yet she lives to protect and care for them to insure their survival. It is seen throughout the animal kingdom as well as in our life as humans, mothers sacrifice many things to insure the health and safety of their young.
